Sketchbook Journals
I started keeping a Sketchbook Journal when I was a teenager, inspired by one of my beloved friends, Peggy Pollack (a.k.a. "Pegasus"). She carried a sketchbook around with her as she traversed the halls of our high school and the little book with the plain black cover seemed as mysterious as her Mona Lisa smile. The beautiful thoughts and words that poured out of her hands and onto the page were stunningly sophisticated. I on the other hand had to labor at it, scrubbing away at the paper with pencil and eraser until the page needed to be torn from the binding. I kept at it though and after faithfully drawing into subsequent volumes for many years and giving it up for equally as many I have again returned to my muse, humble pen in hand. Currently working on Book Number 21.
